Friday 16th October
This pile of tiles is now on the roof and some of the ones above. A couple of the pallets had lots of broken ones so what we did was to split the bands and because I struggled to lift a whole stack onto the bumpa I just put two or three at a time on the conveyor and then Dave stood at the top and took them off and stacked them on the scaffold.
Anyone for a cuppa? |
How many more? |
A few more empty pallets |
In the midst of all this the roof lights arrived - once again without any handling gear and they weighed a ton. Had to get Alan and Kevin down off the roof to lend a hand.
Not sure how they will lift them up into the window slots!
And not only windows, but also the floor screeding people came to patch up a couple of little niggles. Busy busy busy - numerous cups of tea and coffee
By the end of the day most of the back roof and has been tiled. Gap is for the roof light to be fitted Monday week.
Saturday 18th October
Dave got up on the roof and put on a couple of hundred tiles - I just passed him the tiles
so quite a large chunk of the front is now tiled.
Whoops forgot my jacket - tidying up after workers as usual! |
