Working in the garden

Wednesday 6th first load of bricks arrived and the second load (whilst we were in Nantwich) came on Thursday.  Good job our neighbour has a key for the gate.  We were expecting them Friday.
So we now have 15,200 bricks ready for end of September.

Wednesday 13th August
Right where were we?  Ah yes sifting soil and more soil but eventually with the help of family we managed to reduce it almost to ground level.
We had a family bbq with our niece Sandi, husband Cameron and daughter Frankie over from Australia. Dianne and boys and Peter and Pamela and family, Christine and Martin all joined in the fun. (The rain didn't dampen our spirits)

Thursday 14th
Started building a large vegetable box (version 2)

Today Friday 15th August - we started on this pile of soil, half of which has already been wheelbarrowed, sifted and put into the new veggie box.

Sorry folks - these pictures should have been on an earlier blog but they got lost in the ether.
This is Steve cutting down a huge oak which was half in our garden and half in our neighbour's.  Fortunately Brian was very understanding and said provided he could have the logs we could cut it down.  It wasn't an easy job but Steve, Brian Carr and with us making coffee the tree was finally felled and cut into rather large logs.
Our neighbour Brian and his son Paul brought round a log splitter and by the end of the day there was hardly any evidence of there having been a tree in the garden.

Buzz, buzz, buzz!

Timberrrrrr!!!!! watch out!!!!!! Jump!!!!!!!
