Monday 3rd - 6th November
Roof light men came again on Monday to put large window on the front elevation. Lots of tiles had to be stripped back once again and this time it interfered with the pattern which we weren't happy about. Dave had to go up and redesign the pattern.
Wednesday - All roof trusses up and bracing put on outside to stabilise and keep square.
Dave and Howard finished off bracing the roof trusses from the inside which were all finished by end of day. Mervyn and I moved 2 stacks of roof tiles as these were in the way of the diggers.
Dave and I then had the wonderful job of moving the compost bins - lovely!
Diggers arrive about midday - but no drivers until 3pm but they didn't hang about and by dark they had dug a huge hole to take the rain water harvester. This will feed one or two of the toilets and also the washing machine.

Thursday - the rainwater harvester (onion shaped thing) moved nearer the hole.
Going, going - gone - onion being lowered into hole
You can now just see top of onion. This was done by 8.30 am!!
Good view across plot and houses that are adjacent in Manor Place.

Tuesday - Martin helping with roof trusses on the garage roof. So we had Christine, Martin, Howard, Mervyn, Dave and I all helping - lifting some of the trusses was jolly hard work - not bad for 6 geriatrics! Christine and I set about moving 2 whole stacks of bricks which were in the way for drains to be dug. Howard tried to help but couldn't bend - however he was able to push the wheelbarrow. Mervyn also came to help. Christine was on a mission to get them all moved in an hour before they had to go - in fact 800 bricks took 1 hour and 10 mins - not bad eh!! We then had to move two huge beams that weighed a ton - well it felt like it - but between us we managed.
