Windows

 December
This is what the bungalow looked liked at the beginning of December.

Window cills are being put in - they are all done now it has certainly been a very busy month.

This shows some of the insulation.  Each of the gaps had to be filled with two layers of itchy horrible stuff then have a layer of solid insulation.  Pictured is Dave putting large washers on the insulation.  We struggled to get anything to hold it up - as soon as you screwed through the stuff just disintegrated so we were advised to buy these large washers to hold screws in place.
Mervyn is pictured here observing but in fact he did do a lot to help.

Having done all that we then had to put silver backed foil which acts as a vapour barrier on top.  Exhausting and that's just the insulation side.  The building inspector said it didn't matter whether the silver was on top of the hard or the soft and we have now found it easier to put the vapour barrier directly on top of the itchy stuff which holds it in place better.  Phew!
 Saturday 13th
Nice day so Dave and I started putting tiles on the roof of the garage.  Haven't done any since as the roofer had to nick what tile and halves we had left to do the main roof - which is still not finished - but almost!!

Garage door arrives - electric roller door.  This was fitted in a couple of hours - not bad eh.

Headers mostly in now - this is one of the circular ones and is study window.  Went next door to take this photo!  Can you tell which is the header and which is the cill?  It will look great when scaffolding goes.

This is the back view of the bungalow showing cill and header

 Saturday 20th December
Some of the windows arrive - yeah - this is looking down the side (bathroom and guest bedroom) shown.

Back view of the bungalow with windows and back door and windows in garden room.  Garden room has a problem in that the steel girder can be seen so they are going to get some angled beading cut to cover it all. Dave had to cut off 6 bolts which were protruding through the steel work.  Good fun here you know.
Unfortunately front door is not wide enough - somebody got it wrong and they will have to change it.  No doubt that will be early January now but other than that really pleased.
