Garage Groundwork

Monday 21st July
Heard today that the frame for the house is delayed and will not arrive until 26th August so we are having to put everything else back a week.

Foundations dug for garage.
By Wednesday 23rd July the concrete for the garage floor was laid.
It was a really hot day and we got through gallons of squash tea and coffee.
Christine and Martin have been over helping and have broken up over 20 pallets as well as painting fences.

Thursday 24th July
Another hot day!
All floors for bungalow and garage have now been done.
Main contractor now on holiday for 2 weeks but the Diggers will return shortly to dig out drains and hole for rainwater harvester and also biodisc.
Lots of tidying to be done now.
Dave has made a giant sieve so we can sort soil. In one huge pile (not shown) lots of tree roots, bricks etc. which we don't want on the final garden.

Friday 25th
We have tidied somewhat, and buried a cable, with Christine and Martin's help.

Dave popped up a ladder and took the picture of the bungalow footings below. Can you identify the rooms from the plan?

Sifted some of the soil you can see in the background - just a few more tons to go.  There are a lot of tree roots and stones hidden in the pile which we want to remove with the sieve as this will be our garden eventually.
