Friday 6th March
Started laying floor. Had to scrape floor of plaster and other debris first, then work out starting points and so preparation seemed to take ages. Also had to move all the stair bits out of the way, move the table and chairs and settees so were exhausted before we even started!
This is how far we got By Saturday.
Beginning to look good. Put some felt pads on table and chairs which makes it easier to move around.
Tuesday 10th March
Had air test today, Andy arrived about 8am to start setting up equipment. We had to have it tested so that we can get feed in tariff for solar panels (when they eventually get connected). We had to seal up lots of holes which took ages. At one point I was holding up a large piece of insulation against the doorway which was then sealed so I was stuck in the room for a while, but it helped discover where the leak was coming from and we were able to seal it. Anyway got it down to acceptable level so will now get certificate. Things get complicated at times around here. So we didn't get started on the floor again until about 4pm Another couple of interruptions and then managed to get to this point. Naturally all the staircase bits had to be moved back into the lounge so we could put the floor down in the hallway. Looks a mess but hopefully on Saturday Paul will come and we can start assembling staircase.
